Wolf Blass Gold Label Chardonnay, Adelaide Hills, 2004
13.5% Alc./vol. White wine. A blend of Chardonnay sourced from vineyards throughout the Adelaide Hills. The vines: Fruit from several vineyards within the Adelaide Hills region were included in the blend. The method: Each vineyard parcel was barrel fermented using a combination of cultured and wild yeasts in new and one year old French oak barrels. A portion of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and less stirring to add richness, complexity and mouthfeel to the wine. The individual parcels were then matured in French oak prior to final blending. The wine remained unfiltered until bottling. Screwcaps were used to ensure freshness and preserve the characters of the wine. The result: Distinct aromas of lemon butter and white peach with long and elegant flavours on the palate. The screwcap bottling of this wine will ensure that it can be enjoyed for more than five years. Product of Australia.
