Anapamu Pinot Noir, Monterey County, 2003
Anapamu means Rising Place in the Native American Chumash language. The Chumash people inhabited and revered the Central Coast region of California. Remnants of their art can still be found throughout the region. Rising Place refers to both the coastal hills and mountains surrounding the vineyards where our grapes are grown and the emerging reputation of Monterey wines. Monterey County's cool climate allows for a long growing season, which gives its red wines a rich color and a smooth style. Anapamu Pinot Noir is a dense and beautiful crimson-red wine with flavors of cranberry and plum and a soft, lingering mouthfeel. 13.5% Alc. by Vol.
