J Lohr Carol's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, 2003

Carol's Vineyard lies in northern St. Helena, comprised of 16.4 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and 4.3 acres of Petite Verdot. The gravelly, sandy loam soil and Bordeaux like climate of the Napa Valley produce small quantities of intensely flavored fruit. Careful maceration and 18-24 months oak aging in new French oak barrels produce a concentrated yet supple wine that combines flavors of ripe currant and cherry with those of toasty vanilla and brown spices, producing a wine that is a superb complement to grilled meats and wild game. My wife Carol finds the setting for our Napa Valley vineyard very lovely and gentle. Please share in our joy of this very special Vineyard Series Cabernet Sauvignon from Carol's Vineyard. Alc. 14.0% by Vol.
