Bridlewood Syrah, Central Coast, 2004

Alc 14.5% by vol. Reserve. Syrah is a mysterious varietal of somewhat unknown origins. Originally traced to ancient Persia, Syrah is now thought to be a hybrid of two wild French grapes. From this rustic lineage, the noble grape variety Syrah was born. This history parallels that of Bridlewood Winery. Formerly an Arabian horse farm and later an equestrian rehabilitation center, Bridlewood is now an artisan winery in Santa Ynez, California, dedicated to promoting the enjoyment of uncommon varietals. Our Reserve Syrah displays rich flavors of blackberry, spice and plum followed by powerful tannins and a smooth, succulent finish.
